Construction Industry Activity Starts to Increase
According to the Ulster Bank Construction Purchasing Managers Index for April 2015, the Irish construction industry showed further signs of regaining growth.
Activity, new orders and employment all rose at sharper rates than in March 2015.
Commenting on the survey, Simon Barry, Chief Economist Republic of Ireland at Ulster Bank, said “following disappointing readings in the first quarter, the April results paint a picture of a sector experiencing renewed improvement in the early part of the second quarter. The pace of the activity growth accelerated across each of the three major sub sectors. “
For the first time in three months growth of activity was recorded on commercial and residential projects and in civil engineering.
New Roofing Academy Opens In Kildare
The Minister for Skills, Research and Innovation, Damien English TD recently launched Irelands first training facility for roofing contractors. The training sessions will take place twice a week at Tegral Building Products in Athy Co Kildare.
Speaking at the launch, Paddy Kelly, Managing Director of Tegral said, “The timing to set up the Academy is right; after a challenging few years, there are strong signals now to indicate that the Irish construction market is recovering. “
Bloom In The Park 2015
Back for another year Bloom In The Park, the five day gardening, food and family fun event returns to the Phoenix Park from Thursday 28th May to Monday 1st June 2015
This year’s event will include 25 show gardens in a variety of sizes developed with a unique theme and style as well as a number of gardens designed by amateur gardeners and students.
Other highlights include talks on topical issues around food, sustainability and agriculture in the Banter at Bloom marquee, a childrens area and the food village which will have a dining area and food for sale.
