Speed ramps used to slow traffic when on site. Available in 50mm and 70mm
SPEED RAMPS - 50MM
50mm speed ramps are definitely our most popular - ideal for almost every situation, rated to slow traffic to 15KMH (approx. 10MPH). 50mm speed ramps are suitable for schools, hospitals, hotels, retail and leisure centres and are also suitable for limited HGV traffic. The speed ramps come cats eyes. We stock fixings for tarmac, asphalt or concrete. The simplest way to order these speed ramps is to choose our complete 50mm speed ramp kit.
SPEED RAMPS - 70MM
70mm speed ramps are rated for a speed of 8 KM/H (5MPH). Our 70mm speed ramps come in a modular system, with mid-sections at 250mm wide. This means you can construct a ramp of any width to suit your exact requirements. 70mm speed ramps are ideal where pedestrians are at high risk of injury, or if you need to bring a vehicle almost to a stop (e.g. for CCTV recording of registration). Our 70mm speed bumps are available in a handy speed ramp kit format - choose the width you require and we will supply mid-sections, end-caps, fixings and drill bits - everything you need to install the ramp quickly and easily.
SUMMARY
Speed ramps are a highly effective means of controlling traffic speeds, the modular system is formed from black and bright yellow segments made from heavy duty recycled PVC. Each segment includes white reflectors which provide excellent night and bad weather visibility.
Both ends and inners are available in black and yellow, and all segments are sold separately to accommodate any road width.
All bolts, fixings and reflectors are included with the ramp segments.
Also suitable for HGVs up to 44 tonnes.
Not suitable for solid tyred vehicles such as solid tyred folk lift trucks
- 50mm high ramps slow traffic to 10mph, 75mm high ramps slow traffic to 5mph.
- Warning signs should be used to alert road users.
- Speed ramps offer an effective solution to the problem of slowing down ‘onsite traffic’ on private roads or sites.
Supplied in 50-cm long modular segments, in either yellow or black they are manufactured in high-density rubber. Unlike other speed ramps where the black rubber is sprayed yellow, this ramp is yellow rubber moulded with the black to make the yellow sections. Speed ramps can be fixed to most level surfaces by means of standard ‘anchor bolts’. Available in two heights, 5 cm or 7 cm, the latter requiring traffic too slow down to a greater degree. End caps can also be fitted at the end of each single run of ramp section. These are supplied in pairs, each being 25 cm long.
- Ramp sections can also be ordered with integral ‘cats eyes’ for extra visibility.
- It is recommended that signage is used in-conjunction with speed ramps to warn oncoming traffic of their presence.
- Fixing Method Central segments require 4 number M12 bolts. (150 mm long) End caps require 2 number M12 bolts. (150 mm long)
